My Dream App Starts First Round Voting
September 21, 2006
My Dream App will give away free licenses for critically-acclaimed virtual nap application Pzizz when the contest begins its first round of voting today. The 24 My Dream App finalists are competing for the chance to have their ideas developed into full-blown Mac shareware applications.
Users will choose their favorite ideas from the field of finalists. As a bonus, each voter will receive a free license for Pzizz, groundbreaking software which enables users to achieve a state of relaxation similar to REM sleep. Pzizz is normally $40 and My Dream App will offer OS X and Windows versions of the application for free.
Voting is live now and will continue through 11:59 p.m. EDT on Friday, Sept. 22. The six finalists with the lowest vote totals will be eliminated from the competition and will receive newly released iPod shuffles.
My Dream App is an online competition in which contestants compete for the chance to have their ideas realized as Macintosh shareware applications. When the contest is over, three teams of veteran developers and designers will develop the winning ideas into full-blown Mac apps. After launching three weeks ago, My Dream App (http://mydreamapp.com) has received over 2,700 idea submissions and 800,000 visits from the online community.
