WiebeTech adds write-blocked access through USB
July 12, 2006
WiebeTech has now enhanced its proprietary write-block technology to allow investigators to image suspect 3.5″ IDE drives through USB as well as FireWire 800 (400 compatible). The new Forensic ComboDock™ v4 also has more LED indicators to monitor data transfer, including an indicator that assures users that write-block technology is active and protecting the data.
The Forensic ComboDock v4 (part # FCDKV4) is priced at $399.95 and will begin shipping July 19, 2006. An optional SATA adapter for SATA drives (part # FCDKV4-SATA) is available in a package that includes the FCDKV4, SATA adapter and SATA cable for $499.95.
WiebeTech’s series of Forensic DriveDocks allow forensic examiners to download and image contents of a suspect drive in the field or lab without risk of data being written back to the drive and is fully compatible with forensic acquisition and analysis software. A Fourth Generation Forensic Notebook DriveDock™ and Forensic SATADock™ will be available in coming weeks.
